La Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN), ce sont plus de 283 000 travailleuses et travailleurs répartis dans près de 2000 syndicats. À la CSN, les syndicats se regroupent aussi sur une base sectorielle ou professionnelle au sein d’une fédération. Il y a huit fédérations. Voici un bref portrait de chacune d’elle :

À la CSN, la vie syndicale en région s’articule autour des conseils centraux. Il y a en a 13 dans tout le Québec. Le conseil central réunit donc tous les syndicats CSN de son territoire.

À la CSN, chaque syndicat détient son certificat d’accréditation et est maître de sa vie syndicale. Cela signifie entre autres que chacun d’entre eux contrôle la négociation de sa convention collective et détermine les moyens à mettre en œuvre pour atteindre ses objectifs de négociation.

The Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN) has more than 283,000 workers in almost 2,000 unions. At the CSN, unions also come together on a sectoral or professional basis within a federation. There are eight federations. Here is a brief portrait of each of them:

At the CSN, union life in the regions revolves around central councils. There are 13 in all of Quebec. The central council therefore brings together all CSN unions in its territory.

At the CSN, each union holds its certificate of accreditation and is the master of its union life. This means, among other things, that each of them controls the negotiation of his collective agreement and determines the means to be used to achieve his negotiating objectives.
